The Bridgeport Series 1 (2HP) is one of the most common turret mills in UK workshops, and one we are regularly asked to guard. The machine pictured here is fitted with a Repar2 FAB mill guard and an FAO drawbar guard. Below is a quick overview of each part of the package.
Repar2 FAB milling machine guard
The FAB is an interlocked milling machine guard from Repar2, with a polycarbonate screen and built-in LED lighting. It is available with screen cups of 300mm, 350mm, 400mm, 450mm, 500mm and 600mm diameter, so the guard can be matched to the tooling in use. Combining the interlock, the clear polycarbonate screen and the LED lighting in a single unit makes the FAB a tidy, all-in-one solution for the Bridgeport’s spindle area.
Repar2 FAO drawbar guard
The FAO covers the drawbar at the top of the spindle and is also interlocked. It has a pre-drilled flange, which makes installation straightforward, and the cover lifts up when the drawbar needs adjusting.
MCL quill extension
To complete the set-up we offer our own MCL quill extension, made to fit the original OEM fittings and available in imperial or metric versions.
